Evolve Into Something More

Some things and people in life will never change. If they contradict with you and what you stand for then maybe you need to decide to move on. If you come full circle by living on other's terms then you know it is not your life your living- it is theirs. Sometimes it hurts because it may be moving on from something or someone you love. The guilt and fear will push you from growing. However, it is ok to move on, want more, grow--EVOLVE. Some may be happy and content with their lives, situations. However, if you want more--make it happen. Avoid those who will hinder that growth and live the life that was chosen by you and for you. Because in the end you will look back and be content. If you want IT then OWN IT. Pray and make it happen. -V.Serrano

Inner Beauty.

Sometimes we forget our inner beauty is essential for our outer beauty. We spend all this money and time in search of being more beautiful.  There has always been so much pressure to look a certain way. The illusion created that "beautiful people are the happiest" and "live the perfect life" has overshadowed the saying, "that happy girls are the prettiest girls".  We as a society do our utmost to buy the latest fashions, make-ups and have plastic surgeries to fit that mold.  We do all this yet we fail to realize that without inner beauty, we can not truly be a beautiful person.  To be beautiful is to feel it inside, deep inside. You can be the most beautiful person in the room yet if you've failed to nourish your heart you will surely reflect it in your face. The make-up and outfit will not serve it's purpose because your eyes will reflect what you feel inside.  Marilyn Monroe, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Erykah Badu and Shakira are one my favorite beauties because their inner beauty sparkles through all the superfical.  It's true what they say: "your eyes are the window to your heart".  And so it starts with being happy, loving yourself and accepting what God gave you.  There is nothing more freeing than accepting who you are and loving the real you. Believe me when I say, I feel the most beautiful when I have no make up and the man I love agrees.

Differences.

There comes a time in life when we give and take. As I get older I feel a tad more selfish than I did in my younger years.  The art of compromise is just not an option because it can be jeopardizing to your own beliefs and values. Although, some of you may not see eye to eye or understand this, I know I do. It is not up to others to comprehend my reasons for my beliefs and values. It is up to me to stand for what I like and do not like, even if it goes against the people I care most about.  Because in the end it is this so called selfishness that will seperate me from others.  Knowing that I am different and I stand for something is essential.  Their right ends when mine starts and vice versa. Compromise is such a difficult thing at this point. Yes, it may seeem the right thing to do but when it interferes with a belief and mindset, is it really the best thing for both of you?

Today.

Today belongs to me and only me. I look forwad to the uncertainty of what it will bring. Yesterday is gone and my past along with it, building empire of memories in my mind. As I turn on the shower knob I think my shower will not only wash away dirt  but everything else that accumulated yesterday. It is time to rejuvinate my mind, body and spirit. What a blessing today is.

Influence.

What we say matters--words have Power --both to build up or tear down. The tongue may be a small thing but can destroy even the most powerful.
